Thousands of commuters are at risk of having to look at each other on the way home.
One of several free newspapers distributed in London with a cumulative distribution of over 1 million per day, thelondonpaper is closing next month having accumulated debts of over £31m.

According to James Murdoch in the Press Gazette, “…the performance of the business in a difficult free evening newspaper sector has fallen short of expectations”.
thelondonpaper employs around 40 journalists.

Free papers in London have a cumulative daily circulation of over 1.7 million – thelondonpaper accounts for roughly 500,000 of this.
