Vaseline, Facebook and dark skin

Change.org is running a petition asking Facebook to withdraw an app that lightens skin colour in the profile pictures of Indian users – it’s designed to promote a product that lightens skin. The headline for the petition is Dear Facebook, Please Stop Running Racist Apps. But it’s slightly more complicated than that.
